Product marketers live in campaign links: which post drove the clicks, which channel converted, what's worth doubling down on. Shlinkly puts that on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, native and open-source, reading straight from a self-hosted Shlink.

What it does & who it's for

Built for product marketers (and any self-hoster) who'd rather own their link data than hand it to someone else's dashboard.

  • Per-link analytics: which campaigns and posts are actually driving clicks
  • Manage links across multiple Shlink servers or brands in one app
  • Shorten any link from any app via the Share Extension
  • Home Screen widget, Shortcuts and Siri support on iPhone and iPad
  • Native on iPhone, iPad & Mac, free and open source (MIT)

Status & links

Live

Shlinkly is live: on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and as a direct download for Mac. The full source is public on GitHub under the MIT license.

Browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome, plus an Android app, are in development.

How I got here & built it

This started as my own pain. I'm a product marketer, and I self-host Shlink to own my campaign-link data, but the moment I wanted to check those links from my phone, nothing fit. The one native option is closed-source, and I wasn't about to pour campaign data into a black box (or pay €160 a year for the privilege). So I built the tool I wished existed.

I'm not an engineer. My first reps were in n8n, building automations and my first AI agents, learning to think in systems and data. Shlinkly was the step up to a real native app: AI as my pair-programmer for the Swift, me owning the product calls. Native SwiftUI across all three devices, multi-server support, a Share Extension, tested on both platforms via TestFlight, and root-cause fixes over quick patches.

Why it felt like a tattoo

Building an app turned out to be a lot like getting a tattoo. People shrug (why bother?), then I just did it, and it quietly became part of me. Same trick, too: I carried the idea until I could describe it, then showed up to the artist (or the AI) with the architecture already clear, not "make me something nice." Two tattoos so far, one app, and the next ideas already lining up. Turns out I'd rather build the tools I was renting than keep paying for the black box.

What's next & the details

On the roadmap

  • Spotlight: find and open your links from system search
  • Deeper analytics: geography, devices, and tags
  • Browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome

FAQ

What is Shlinkly?

A native, open-source app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that lets product marketers (and anyone self-hosting Shlink) track and manage campaign short links from their own server.

Is it free and open source?

Yes. Shlinkly is free and released under the MIT license, with the full source on GitHub.

Do I need my own server?

Yes. Shlinkly is a client for a self-hosted Shlink instance, reading and managing the links on that server rather than shortening links itself.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone, iPad and Mac, built natively in SwiftUI (not Mac Catalyst). visionOS is planned for a later release.
